Introducing Feistodon

Introducing Feistodon. Before you go all crazy thinking "holy shit that's an awesome band name, I hope they play Godzilla like music." it's an exchange of music for Record Store Day.

Record Store Day has become a national day of B-side releases on vinyl and interesting covers/mashups also on vinyl. I call it Hipster Christmas. I love vinyl as much as the next guy, but I have yet to go to a record store and purchase the green vinyl edition of When I Come Around played by Tre Cool of Green Day on the xylophone. I guess I am part of the problem.

Feist and Mastodon are teaming up for a covers 7" vinyl release for Record Store Day.

"The idea is for Mastodon to cover a Feist song and throw some hair and dirt on it," Troy Sanders (bassist of Mastodon) said. "They're going to take a Mastodon song and pretty it up a little bit."

I love Mastodon, but Feist's voice is ear raking and nerve grating. That breathy, airy songbird should be captured and put out of the music industry. Maybe there is a bunch of people out there who love both Feist and Mastodon who are so erect att his news they could split wood. Well hold out, Nancy-boy, you have to wait until April or something.

I could see her covering Oblivion from Crack the Skye. As for what they will cover from her shit, who knows because I haven't heard any of her stuff other than that 1,2,3,4 song.
