Van Halen Signs with Interscope

Van Halen has been on Warner Bros. records since the beginning of their music career. Van Halen decided it was time to shop around for a brand new label and in comes Columbia. Columbia Records wanted the band and everyone in the band wanted Columbia...except God. God didn't want to sign with Columbia because it is based in New York City and God lives in Los Angeles. The deal was about to be killed, but in comes Interscope Records (a subsidiary of Columbia) on their white steed of greed. Interscope is based in Los Angeles and that helped get this deal done.

What does this mean? There is a rumored new album and distrubution of that album will be done through Interscope. Van Halen also signed a deal with Live Nation to be the official promoter and sponsor of any tour Van Halen does. Now that the label bullshit is behind them, I would expect 2012 to be a big year for Van Halen and The Mayans.
