LouTallica Release New Full Length Song The View

Here is the first full song released by the Lou Reed Metallica collaboration. The song is called The View and will be found on the upcoming collaboration album from Lou Reed and Metallica called Lulu

The Metallica music behind the song is good (or is it? Read further) and promising, but Lou kills it and not in a good way. His vocals are like my grandfather lecturing me while I listen to Metallica. It is just awful. If this is indicative to the whole album, you could be in trouble....big trouble.

But I thought, if Lou's vocals were removed, would the music be that great? I only hear the music in contrast with Lou's shitty vocal work and horribly abstract lyrics. Thanks to YouTuber NewAgeDemoliton1, you can listen to the Metallica music portion.

It actually stinks, you just can't tell because Lou's vocals are up front and over power the heavier music in the background. If Metallica released that music and put some booze references in it and a bunch of "OOOOH YEAAAH," we would be talking about how they have regressed from Death Magnetic back to St. Anger territory. Instead, we will just chalk this up to a Lou Reed album and move on.

Are your hopes sufficiently dashed for this record? Are you no longer excited for it? Good, now that your expectations are lowered you might find something to enjoy in the album. Perhaps that was Metallica and Lou Reed's plan all along!

It really is an awful song. Reed's vocals are the audio equivalent of Michelle Bachman's face.
