Jani Lane Autopsy Inconclusive
Jani Lane was found with a half empty (or full if you are an optimist) bottle of vodka and prescription pills in his hotel room. The autopsy was inconclusive on his death with a cause of death still pending.
I am really shocked at the outpouring of emotion for a guy who wrote one good song and two hits. I have seen a lot of Twitter posts talking about this guy's influence on Rock and how Rock lost an icon. As a historian of Rock N' Roll, Jani Lane has zero influence on rock and was no icon. His band was a generic hair band in an era where there were thousands of hair bands.

The Rock community did not lose Mick Jagger or Paul McCartney here, we lost an alcoholic named Jani Lane who is famous for writing about Cherry Pie.....CHERRY FUCKING PIE!
I hope that the death of Amy Winehouse and now Jani Lane, both to addiction, serves as an example to those of you suffering from addiction. Please seek help and stick with it. If you fall off the wagon, get back on it and get more help. Drugs and alcohol are killer addictions and there is no reason to toss your life away being a slave to them. I assure you there are people who love you and care about, please seek help.
To those of you suffering inconsolably about Jani's death, I found the perfect song for you. Listen to the lyrics, I think you will find comfort in them.

Wow, that is all you have to post. Did you ever listen to Uncle Tom's Cabin and When I Saw Red. What generation are you from? Only giving him credit for Cherry Pie, what a disgrace. Yes, addiction kills many musicians, but no need to disrespect them, addiction could affect your family or mine on any given day.

Jennifer thanks for taking the time to post on our site. I agree with you about those two songs being great so much so, that I posted them on our Twitter account and Facebook account on the day Jani died.
I'd invite you to follow us on Twitter and LIKE us on Facebook as I try to expose the follower to new and fresh music or old gems like Uncle Tom's Cabin by a band known only for Cherry Pie.
