Cinderella Record Cost 1.2 Million to Make

SCTimes recently sat down with Eric Brittingham, bassist of Cinderella, and asked some softball sized questions. But, Eric still delivered some juicy tidbits.

On whether there are plans to record a new Cinderella album:

Eric Brittingham: Not at this time. I know everyone's done their side projects ... . In the musical climate these days and the way we like to do things, it's not really worth doing it anymore. But that's not to say it won't happen; it may. I'm sure Tom [Keifer
, vocals/guitar] has a couple hundred songs ready to go. Our last record cost $1.2 million to make and the cheapest record we've ever made was $400,000. You can't do that these days because no one even sells $400,000 worth of records, CDs or downloads. Everything's changed. Everyone makes records in their bedrooms basically for next to nothing and in my opinion, most of them sound like it. That's not what we're about.

That is an insane amount of cash to make a record. The record was good, certainly not up to old Cinderella, and certainly it wasn't 1.2 million good.

Cinderella is amazing live. I got to see them about two years ago with Lynam in Philadelphia and they rocked my proverbial face off. They played almost two hours and hardly had a break. Played all their hits (unlike A Perfect Circle) and stayed afterward to meet fans and thank everyone for coming out. It is rare to see a band of their caliber sticking around after shows and schmoozing with fans.

If you get a chance to see Cinderella, you have to go. Until then, you have to settle for Gypsy Road, who our friends in Pistol Shot Gypsy took their name.
