Michele Bachmann Can't Use Walking on Sunshine

t is that time in American Politics where the party not in power (by that I mean Presidency) trots out a bunch of politicians and throws them at the wall to see who sticks. Most are completely delusional about their prospects and chances of winning a general election. Others use the platform to preach their stupidity on the mouth breathing public in some misguided attempt at a grass roots effort. I don't give a shit about politics either way, I vote for who the Sith party tells me too and Emperor Palapatine is endorsing Michele Bachmann

Michele Bachmann is nuttier than a Baby Ruth bar (link) and no one wants to be associated with her registered brand of crazy. But what does this have to do with music, Craig? Because every campaign has that song that defines it and this is where it gets real difficult for Republicans since most artists are left leaning...well artists. We'd all like the government to come along and help us out with healthcare because we have zero money to pay for it ourselves. We also don't have a metric ass load of money to hide through tax incentives, so eat the rich!

Mrs. Bachmann was using Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves as her campaign song, but why you wouldn't first clear that with the band, I have no clue. Surprisingly, Katrina Leskanich, front woman of Katrina and the Waves, has a problem with this.

A statement on the group's official website reads: "Katrina & The Waves would like it to be known that they do not endorse the use of Walking On Sunshine by Michele Bachmann and have instructed their lawyers accordingly."

In a statement to Rolling Stone magazine, the singer explains, "The song is used in commercials and movies as a vehicle for a feel good moment or empowerment but if I disagree with the policies, opinions or platforms for its use, I've no choice but to try and defend the song and prevent its misuse. Music can be both powerful and moving and sometimes even a little dangerous."

The hilarious thing to note is that she is talking about Walking on Sunshine when she says "Music can be both powerful and moving and sometimes even a little dangerous." Yes, throw away pop songs by one hit wonders can be dangerous. But I agree with you Katrina and I back your position.

Look I would be pissed too if someone came on to this site and took every one of my words and used it in a religious campaign against tits, ass, and vaginas. It would be hard to control myself if that happened. It would be like a Chinese hooker facing a firing line of Millionaire dicks and telling her to keep her mouth shut. She just wouldn't be able to control herself and she'd be throat deep in dong.

Katrina and the Waves isn't the first band to tell Michele Bachmann no. Mr. Tom Petty had to send over a cease and desist letter when she used American Girl without the band's ok. Tom Petty is probably the biggest liberal this side of Bob Dylan, an apt comparison since they are essentially the same person.

We here at the Sith party have cleared one song for Mrs. Bachmann to use in her campaign stops. It has been cleared by the higher ups so trust me on it. Here it is:
