Fozzy Releasing Two Disc Package

Fozzy, the band with WWE wrestler Chris Jericho at the vocal helm, will release Remains Alive & Chasing the Grail as a two disc set on July 1.

Chasing the Grail was released in 2010 and helped put Fozzy on the mainstream map rising and peaking at Number 6 on the Billboard charts. Remains Alive is a 2005 live album (recorded in Australia) that was previously available in digital format only.Together they form a Voltron of Fozzy's commercial work. However, not their best.

Fozzy's first album was a cover album featuring metal versions of Live Wire, Eat the Rich, and Stay Hungry among other classics. It was a solid record which blows away Vince Neil's sordid attempt at a cover record. Actually the only thing Vince seems to blow is .14 BAC.

Fozzy's follow up to the cover album was Happenstance, which featured some covers but had a bit more original content. Then All That Remains had zero covers and all originals, which I loved. The album is just a great driving album. Sure Jericho's voice has a ton of effects on it and the guitars are over produced. Fozzy steps in where Black Label Society stepped out. While Zakk decided to become a mobster on Mafia and really use a bunch of vocal effects and saturate us with pinch harmonics, Fozzy said "Don't worry Zakk, we got this." The only reason I still listen to Zakk Wylde is because he is half Viking and we all know Viking boners can smell fear and discontent oceans away.

I think you all should give Fozzy a quick listen and I recommend All That Remains as the best entrance point. Then you can pick up the more commercially successful Chasing the Grail if need be. But even then I would recommend going back and getting Fozzy for some great cover tunes.
