Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce Album Details

Mark your calendars fans of songs about California, Red Hot Chili Peppers will be releasing a new album on August 30th this year. The album will be called I'm With You and will once again see the band and Rick Rubin together.

The shaman of song, Rick Rubin, has produced the band's past five albums: Stadium Arcadium, By the Way, Californication, One Hot Minute, and Blood Sugar Sex Magik

I'm With You will be the band's follow-up to Stadium Arcadium, which I thought was an ambitious album that missed the mark. I felt the guitar work by John  Frusciante was exceptional and right up there with some of his best work. However, Flea's slap bass was cliched and over done and Kiedis' vocals were nauseating and grating. The album spaned over two hours (it is a double disc) and after about 40 minutes, I was tired. I had heard all the good stuff and the rest were retreads.

Frusciante is out and in is Josh Klinghoffer. I am intrigued to hear what he brings to the Peppers sound.
