Let's Pretend We Are Jurors

Let's assume you were a law abidding citizen and came into the court room as a juror. Let's also assume that the case is about copyright law and that boiled down to its simpliest form, you have to determine guilt based on just the song. Ready?

Did Audi rip off M&M? Exhibit A - the only exhibit in the trial.

From where this juror stands, it seems so. While not EXACTLY the same, it is pretty damn close.

The commercial comes from Audi European division and they are trying to showcase the new A6. Never mind the similiarities between that ad and the Chrysler commerical M&M did for the Chrysler 200.

When reached for comment, Audi said:

"This video referred to is not an advertisement. Also, this does not involve Audi of America. The video was not shown here in the U.S." The spokesperson added that due to the legal nature of the matter, he could not comment further.

This becomes a bigger issue of does M&M own the global copyright on Lose Yourself both lyrics and music? I don't have any clue, but if he doesn't....then who the hell gave him that advice? This also becomes more a legal matter and I didn't want you to think about that, so back to the topic at hand?

What is the verdict on Audi? Do they have to pay? Craig Wettner says "GUILTY ON ALL ACCOUNTS!"
