The two weekends will be exactly the same, in fact, the organizers said "same lineup, same art, same place, different people." Demand has grown over the years where all three days have been sold out months in advance. That's over 75,000 in tickets.

My problem with Coachella is dual faceted:

It has become a festival more about being seen at rather than watching the bands on the bill. Being close to LA, celebrities are more concerned about appearing at Coachella than actually listening to the bands. Case in point, this celebrity rag blog who posted a bunch of pictures of celebs at Coachella. (blog) Who the fuck is Channel I'maman?

Second point, it has two many acts that it is impossible to see everyone you want to see, if you want to see anyone there at all. The multi genre festival brings lots of different subgroups. The festival is a clashing of hipsters, hip hoppers, ravers, rockers, and hippies which causes gonads and strife....STRIFE!

Logically, tying up touring artists for two full weekends in April is going to be a nightmare. I don't envy the organizers in that regard. But if you like Coachella and you were shut out of it this year, you'll have a second weekend next year.
