I have to listen to a lot of albums and some are over produced to the point of sounding like a completely different band when I see them live. You won't find that to be the case with Juliet's Vice. The band opts for a garage or basement level of production that I just love. Even though I am completely naked while doing this review, the production makes me feel like I am seeing Juliet's Vice live in a dank, beer soaked rock club in Philly.

I could make the comparisons to L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, and Guns N' Roses, but when you saw I was reviewing another band and I called them sleaze, you immediately thought of those three bands. This generally means raw drums, hurling guitars, and a quick bass line.

Songs like Concrete Jungle have a great early era Slash sound on guitar with an Adler like frantic drum beat. The dueling Ramones-esque vocals provide a layer of brotherhood to the music...by that I mean once you learn the lyrics you could conceivably sing along and feel like you are in brotherhood.

D.G.A.F reminds me so much of Guns N' Roses Out Ta Get Me in guitar part only. D.G.A.F. is a great lead track off this album because it had so many hints of the classic Glam and sleaze scenes of the 80s, yet brought a punk sensibility to it. Twas also the song that remained with me hours after listening to the album.

Juliet's Vice has the dubious distinction of being the first band who gets our new rating system. I give this album four wet pussies out of five.

What does that mean exactly? Well you know how you put on a record and most women are ready to go...Barry White and Isaac Hayes immediately cum to mind. I am judging album based on how easy it will be to bed conquests if you put this record/album on. Playing Juliet's Vice, will get your woman ready for sex, but you'll still need to digitally enhance the evening to brings things to a close.
