Voodoo Johnson Release New Song with New Singer
We reported a bit ago that our favorite UK band, Voodoo Johnson lost their voice when Kev left the band to hoard cats in the English countryside. I may have made that up, but where Kev is doesn't matter.
Voodoo Johnson replaced Kev with Vallenbrosa's frontman Nik Taylor-Stoakes and I was worried about the sound he would bring to the band. The band had a very polished sound with Kev's clean, crisp, and range spanning vocals. Nik wasn't that type of singer, he was a gruff, guttoral metal voice. But once again, I should have trusted the band's instincts as they are closer to the situation and know what best fits with their sound.
Voodoo Johnson released a song available for streaming on their MySpace site to promote their upcoming European tour with Europe. Yea, I don't know apparently Europe is still together. The new song entitled Black Skies Mist is the band reaching out, grabbing your balls, and squeezing harder than a virgin on prom night. The song has a harder rock edge juxtaposed with a pop edge that I haven't heard from the band so far. This song is more radio friendly here in the States then I have seen the band release yet.
What could have been potentially devastating for a new band, has almost made Voodoo Johnson more aggressive to prove that losing their singer won't stop them. They are determined to conquer Europe like Napoleon or Julius Caesar. I would say they are ready to conquer the United States, however, we can't be conquered! Eat it France!!! USA USA USA!
If you are in Europe and you want to see Voodoo Johnson, you can find their tour dates on their MySpace site. While there, make sure you check out the new tune Black Skies Mist.
