Voodoo Johnson Announce New Singer
One of my favorite bands, Voodoo Johnson put out a fantastic debut album. In fact, we said their debut album was the best debut album since Appetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses...and we mean that. Check out our review here. It is a wonderful record.
However, shortly after releasing the album, their singer Kev split to pursue other endeavors; leaving my favorite band without their pipes. Most bands would crumble under this initial blow, but Voodoo Johnson are not most bands. They just set sail to find another lead singer.
It is my humble duty to finally announce their new lead singer is Vallenbrosa frontman Nik Taylor-Stoakes. This doesn't mean a lot to most of the United States, but let me tell you, this guy can sing. He doesn't have the polished sound to his voice, judging solely from Vallenbrosa's stuff, however, his vocal control is amazing.
Voodoo Johnson has also revealed that the first single to be released with Taylor-Stoakes was co-written with Brian Tatler of NWOBHM legends and Metallica's favorite Diamond Head and will be released in March. The song is called "Black Skies Mist" and is taken from a new EP to be released this Spring.
If you would like to hear a bit of Taylor-Stoakes stuff, check out Vallenbrosa. They have been voted to Metal Hammer's Top 5 Unsigned bands for some time now. How they remain unsigned is a mystery, but check them out.

Not everyone lights their cigars with 50s and 100s like you Ben. Some bands have to rely solely on MySpace to get their music heard by the masses and not use external webhosting.
