Today is Rod Stewart's birthday and the man really damaged his hard earned Rod the Mod reputation thanks to a string of pop hits in the 80's. But I choose to remember Rod fondly.

Rod had one of the coolest, bluesiest voice in all of rock n' roll. He voiced the Jeff Beck Group, Faces, and then had a string of his own hits. The late 60's and 70's were Rod's playground and he released some iconic and classic sounding albums.

Rod is an extremely talented songwriter, he has an ear for hooks, a flair for the dramatic and a stage presence that is unparalleled. However, in recent years Rod's gotten lazy. He released covers of old classics, which was cool until about the third album of American Standard classics. Then he had a whole album of pop covers and Rod just looks like he is fulfilling contractual obligations.

Rod, you won't ever see this site because it isn't about soccer, but I love you man and you need to get back together with the surviving members of Faces and or Jeff Beck Group and kick some real ass. Stop powdering our ass with this American Standard bullshit and give us the old blues again. P.S. Did you get my painting of you? I included some of my pubes too.
