WMMR Adds Buckcherry's New Single Dead

I was driving around and forgot my iPod at the office. I was forced to listen to 93.3 WMMR here in Philadelphia and they played this new song. It sounded like Buckcherry, but the song didn't suck as much as their music normally does.

Matt Cord, the radio DJ, came on after the song and let me know it was indeed Buckcherry and the song was called Dead off their new album All Night Long. I wanted to find the inspiration for this song and found a great quote by the Keith Nelson. They must have caught him on a good day because he wasn't really all that talkative when we interviewed him.

"I had real issues with authority figures growing up.  I wanted to write about the authority figures in my life who told me I'd never amount to anything.  It's a big "fuck you" to all those people." Buckcherry guitarist Keith Nelson adds, "(It's) one of those songs that marries the greasy rock and punk elements together. This will be a scorcher to play live."

It is the best Buckcherry song to date. It has a great Slash sound and a good sustaining riff. So while you may be a boring interview Nelson, you have cranked out one good song here. Check out the video for Dead below. If you are in Europe, after the video you will find Buckcherry's latest tour dates. Go and see if this song is "a scorcher" live.
