Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are about to release a new remastered version of Damn the Torpedoes. In remastering the album they stumbled across a song they forgot all about. The song is called Nowhere and it is a great toe tapper that old and new Tom Petty fans will enjoy. I love the simple, yet sophisticated guitar work, the multi layered sound of the Damn the Torpedoes era.

Surrender is another new Tom Petty song that starts with a Here Comes My Girl feel that fades into an Even the Losers melody.  The song just throws me right back to hearing Damn the Torpedoes for the first time. Once again, I love the Mike Campbell guitar work; it is simple and repetitive but so memorable. Though for me Nowhere is my favorite Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song in a long time.
