Kid Rock Slams Steven Tyler
I agree with Kid Rock! *holds hands over head and squints eyes* Ok the
world didn't end with the admission of that statement and Hell seems to
still be a burning love nest of debauchery. Now let me explain.
In a statement to the Pulse of Radio, Kid Rock showed his displeasure with Steven Tyler's recent decision to join American Idol as a judge:
"I think it's the stupidest thing he's ever done in his life. He's a sacred American institution of rock 'n' roll, and he just threw it all out the window. Just stomped on it and set it on fire."
Rock added, "I think whoever's advising him, we should bring back the guillotine, or whatever they call that thing. And if it was himself, he needs some serious counseling. I love him to death, but I gotta speak the truth."
I couldn't agree more with Kid Rock. The Steven Tyler judging gig is baffling and shoots his rock credibility to almost zero. A lot of you are now thinking, he is Steven Tyler there is no way his rock credibility could be shot by this move. Let me remind you that Aerosmith hasn't released a good album since Permanant Vacation and I could be convinced it was even later than that (Maybe Done with Mirrors). The in-fighting between Perry and Tyler combined with the Tyler's seemingly mental breakdown hasn't helped.
I think we have to face it that the Aerosmith of Get Your Wings is gone and in it's place lies this broken shell of members going through the motions. The quicker we realize this, the easier it will be to accept the American Idol judging gig. Unfortunately, like Kid Rock, I can't come to grips with the fact one of American's most dangerous rock n' roll bands is gone.
