The Fall Hates Mumford and Sons
When one band
fights another does anyone notice? Only assholes like myself notice when
two bands fight and then we "report" it to you who don't give a shit.
This is one of those such times.
The Fall, a band I would say 70% of you have never heard of, is fighting Mumford and Sons, a band I would say 70% of you don't give a shit about.
There was this festival in Ireland where both bands were playing and The Fall singer Mark E Smith didn't like the way Mumford and Sons sounded during their soundcheck....soundcheck mind you. So being the sophisticated world traveled Metro man, Mark E Smith fired a bottle at Mumford and Sons.
After the incident, Smith told Australia's Brag Magazine "We were playing a festival in Dublin the other week. There was this other group warming up in the next sort of chalet, and they were terrible. I said, 'Shut them cunts up', and they were still warming up, so I threw a bottle at them."
The band said, 'That's the Sons of Mumford (sic) or something, they're number five in the charts!' I just thought they were a load of retarded Irish folk singers."
I don't like Mumford and Sons either, but I would never disrespect any band by tossing a bottle, shoe, mango, whatever at them while they were performing. I do feel Smith's comment about them being a "retarded Irish folk singers" is a dead on description of them, but don't throw shit at them. No band should ever be assaulted or accosted by bottles or projectiles.
Yea, that goes for Nickelback and My Chemical Romance as well. Boo them. Tell your friends not to buy the albums, take up a Facebook campaign against them, whatever you want. Just don't throw shit at a band while they are performing unless it is your bra or panties (no matter the size).

Ha ha - I love this. Good old Mark E Smith. The Fall's last album 'Your Future - Our Clutter' was fantastic although received barely any plaudits last year. Contrary to 'The Sons of Mumford' who pale incomparison, I say.
I've started a blog on bad reviews and featured M&S because they are generally loved. However, I think without the PR these guys would be no where near as popular.
