Retro Interviews: The Friendly
In this business, you get to meet a lot of great people who share a common interest...music. You can shoot the shit with pretty much anyone with just a small knowledge of the classics (Zeppelin, Stones, Beatles).
Our first interview was with a local late night DJ named Jacky Bam Bam. Through the years we have become good friends with him seeing him at shows, watching him change stations, and spinning great tunes at Cheerleaders Gentlemen's Club. He was our first interview and it went a little something like this.
We used to follow around a volatile band known as The Union Dead. It is the main reason we started this site. They broke up, but we stayed together. However, we followed their drummer Marty E to the East Village in NYC as he started a new band with Tommy London - The Dirty Pearls. They were with us from our start and we were with them when they started. We have interviewed them together and separate. Here is their first interview with us and here is our interview with Tommy and our two part interview with Marty E here and here.
Through the Dirty Pearls we met our second favorite NYC band, The Statues of Liberty. We finally got to interview them on the cold streets of NYC in January and they couldn't have been nicer guys. Here is our interview with NYC's most interesting outfit.
Through the Statues of Liberty we got to know a little band known as The Border Cops. They are another great rock band out of NYC and we enjoyed talking with Matt from the band. We threw some odd ball questions at him and he responded as best he could. Check out our interview with them here.
In our travels in Philadelphia, we got to know a lot of great bands that should have been bigger than they currently are. One such band is Fosterchild and we interviewed Brian, the guitarist, and Danny, the lead singer. These guys are great dudes who know a lot about rock n' roll and the record industry in general in their short time in it. They have some great stories and great to drink with. Check out our interview with Brian here and our interview with Danny here.
Last, but certainly not least, The Tressels. The Tressels are a wonderful band by way of Tresselmania and we spoke with their percussionist Mickey Reds and their main man Butch Tressel. Check out our fun interview with the two of them here.

Hey Craig. These are some great retro interviews for sure! I love the Tressels as well. You've talked with some impressive bands!
