Prince Deems Internet Over

Prince is pretty much a musical God. An innovator, a business man, and oozing sex even though he's 4'3. Whatever he does a lot of people believe and copy. He changed his name to put out his own music rather than give his old record label Warner Brothers distribution rights. He gave away his music for free before it was cool to give your music away for free.

Now he's become a Nazi or a Russian Czar of his music, choosing to have it removed from all video sites, YouTube, Google Video, etc. His music is no longer available on iTunes or Amazon MP3 (you can only get Purple Rain and Greatest Hits, which I believe he doesn't own the rights to).

Now, in an interview with The Mirror in the UK, Prince has declared the internet dead. He has moved from Music Nazi to Electronic Coroner in only a matter of years. He must have studied at the CHI Institute. Here is his full quote:

"The internet's completely over. I don't see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won't pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can't get it.

"The internet's like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good.

"They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you."

Prince has gone from coolest man on the planet to my grandfather in less than two years. You kids will have to find something else to waste your time on because the internet has been closed.

Kevin Smith had a run in with Prince and talked about it at Kent State. Here is part one of three. If you want more, the second, third and fourth videos are linked on the side
