Filter Ready to Release New Album and Stream New Song

Filter...I know right? I am bringing back bad memories from the mid-nineties. Filter had that two hits Hey Man Nice Shot and Take a Picture. Hey Man Nice Shot was a fun song about Budd Dwyer, a disgraced Pennsylvania's State Treasury who committed suicide on TV in 1987. I still to this day remember it happening and I was only a youngster.

Anyway, Filter is about to release a new album entitled The Trouble with Angels. They have just released the first single The Inevitable Relapse. The new song can be streamed from their MySpace site, but I am warning you, it is bad. The marketing wants you think of the new song like this:

The song evokes a sound that will be instantly familiar to fans of their 1995 hit “Hey Man, Nice Shot”.

It is not even anywhere close to that song. The song has a very industrial sound and Richard Patrick uses an unnecessary vocal effects for most of the song. I don't think this song will be very popular with the kids now a days and the older generation will want to remember when Filter was a pop-industrial band of the 90s. I think the song is without an audience.
