When thinking of things we need in this world, a solo album from The Killers front man Brandon Flowers, is not one of them. I need a solo album from Brandon Flowers like I need another asshole.

A strange countdown clock appeared on The Killers website, TheKillersMusic.com, it counted down to the announcement that Brandon's new album will be called Flamingo. They also confirmed that The Killers are on hiatus. Ronnie Vannucci, The Killers drummer, will be releasing an album with members of Keane under the name Mt. Desolation.

This always happens with band who make it big quickly. They release the dreaded third album that doesn't live up to the hype of their first two. Then they split and do side projects only to return about a year later to what made them famous in the first place.

Click the video below to hear a small sampling of the Brandon Flowers solo stuff. It sounds OK like it should be played in a massage parlor or while I am shopping for girl's jeans in Ann Taylor, but it doesn't blow me away. However, everything the band has done since Sam's Town hasn't blown me away.
