Chart Positions for Rock Bands Last Week
Let's take a look at the albums
released last week and their chart positions. I am bored so this was fun
for me.
"Infestation", the first studio record in 11 years from Californian rockers RATT, sold around 14,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 30 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Not bad on a very limited marketing budget. The album wasn't bad, but it didn't have the traditional RATT sound I long for.
"Cold Day Memory", the new album from Atlanta, Georgia's Sevendust, sold around 27,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart.
I think this is the biggest surprise to me because not only did I not give a shit about them releasing an album, I didn't think anyone gave a shit. Well it looks like 27k of you did. But due to my dislike of Sevendust, their label never sent a copy over for review. Their loss it would have been the best sexual review the band has ever had.
"No Guts. No Glory.", the sophomore album from Australian hard rockers Airbourne, sold around 6,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 89 on the Billboard 200 chart.
I would have thought higher on this one, but I guess people have tired of AC/DC lite. It is a shame because this album was a fun listen, albeit a bit repetitive.
"AC/DC: Iron Man 2" — which features 15 classic AC/DC songs selected from ten of the band's studio albums, ranging from 1976 to 2008 — sold around 76,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Wow, so a Greatest Hits collection wrapped around a summer blockbuster sold 76k copies. This is sad. You are probably wondering what the tracklisting was for such an album. I will tell you:
"AC/DC: Iron Man 2" track listing:
01. Shoot to Thrill
02. Rock ‘N' Roll Damnation
03. Guns for Hire
04. Cold Hearted Man
05. Back in Black
06. Thunderstruck
07. If You Want Blood (You've Got It)
08. Evil Walks
09. T.N.T.
10. Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be
11. Have a Drink on Me
12. The Razor's Edge
13. Let There Be Rock
14. War Machine
15. Highway to Hell
Now you are curious, what is the number one album in the States? If you REALLY REALLY want to know...it was that little girl Justina Bieber with "My World." I don't understand the popularity of that teen girl, but I guess teenage boys love her. Who am I to argue with school boy crushes?

I like the track list for that AC/DC Iron Man 2. Also Iron Man 2 is supposed to be an awesome.
