Stairway to Heaven Destroyed by Mary J Blige.
As first reported here, Mary J. Blige and Steve Vai have collaborated on
a cover version of Stairway to Heaven. Holy shit it is bad. Why would
anyone agree to take on a song as iconic as Stairway to Heaven is beyond
me.
There are so many vocal runs (because that is what Blige does) that ruin almost every line of this song. Even the best parts are removed for a Wicked like Broadway musical aspect. This is what Stairway to Heaven would sound like on Broadway.
I have warned you, don't listen to it. I am telling you, don't ruin your pristine thoughts of Stairway to Heaven.

Hell I've seen "metal" bands butcher that song worse then that. Anybody that covers it is doomed to failure at least she was in tune and wasn't pitchy at all
Dude, that song was the worst S*** I have ever heard. I shamefully watch American Idol so I was unfortunate to hear that song. I almost puked. I am really pissed that they allowed her to do that song. Why would you let her sing that song??? ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously lost respect for Led Zeppelin. And I bet the people who like this Mary J Blige version have never even heard of Led Zeppelin. F OFF!!!!!!
