Stone Temple Pilots Release New Single Between the Lines Streaming

Stone Temple Pilots have released their new single Between the Lines. I would embed it here, but it only plays for those people with Safari or Internet Explorer, or as I call you hipsters and Luddites. So no Firefox, no embed. However, if you click here you will find the single.

It really sounds like Velvet Revolver to me. I only heard the song once. It is ok, but not really what I was expecting. I think with a few more listens I will like the song.

The self-titled effort will be out on May 25th and features the following track listing:

01. Between The Lines
02. Take A Load Off
03. Huckleberry Crumble
04. Hickory Dichotomy
05. Dare If You Dare
06. Cinnamon
07. Hazy Daze
08. Bagman
09. Peacoat
10. Fast As I Can
11. First Kiss On Mars
12. Maver

Below you will find two videos, one is STP performing the new single at SXSW. The other is them performing Roadhouse Blues at SXSW. This brings me to the point, I think SXSW has jumped the shark. Before it was about showcasing lesser known bands and unsigned bands. It was an excellent forum to get unsigned and innovative artists to the masses. Now larger bands have decided to jump on this seeing the popularity of the festival. Metallica played last year promoting Guitar Hero: Metallica. This year Stone Temple Pilots plays to promote the new album.

I think the festival organizers need to get their shit together and stop allowing larger bands to pull fans from the younger upstart bands.
