Serj Tankian's Elect the Dead Symphony on iTunes

I wasn't a fan of Serj Tankian's Elect the Dead album. I thought it sounded too much like System of a Down. I felt if you were going to leave SOAD to do your own thing, you should sound different. So I forgot all about Elect the Dead.

After the Load and Reload albums the world forgot about Metallica. Some time in the mid 00's the world forgot about KISS. What did these two bands do to resurrect their careers? SYMPHONY BITCHES!

If you want people to remember who the hell you are, you perform all your hits with a symphony. While Metallica's S&M was a great double album and produced some memorable symphonic versions of their songs, the KISS one wasn't as good.

Following the same idea, Serj Tankian decided he would try it with his album Elect the Dead. On March 16th, 2009, Serj took the stage at the majestic Auckland Town Hall in New Zealand with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

He actually breathed life into the songs. Now I am not sure if he did as much as the orchestra did, but the songs are good.  I wouldn't recommend you buy Elect the Dead, but if you are thinking about it, check out the orchestral version.

You can buy it on iTunes right now or at least do the 30 second preview thing. I think you will find that you enjoy at least one or two of the songs.

Maybe you don't want to leave the comfort of Blogs N' Roses. I know, who does? It is a warm hole where like minded individuals can congregate and cum all over that warm hole. So check out the YouTube clip below of the single from Elect the Dead, Empty Walls.
