I Admit: I Like a Creed Song
Ok I never thought this post would come. I killed a man in high school
for his obsession with Creed. I punched a teething child for wearing a
Creed shirt. I had to go to psychological screenings because I was
afraid Scott Stapp was the second coming of Jesus and wanted to repent
my sins.
I still can't believe I am about to say this...the new Creed song Rain isn't that bad. I know. I deserve this next time you see me:

I assure you, I am more shocked about that admission than you are. You do not know how steadfastly opposed to Creed I was growing up and to this day. The band was my proverbial punching bag for the last decade. Here I am admitting to liking a song by them.
My only justification for this is that "a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes." That is to say, throughout their entire catalog, they were bound to have ONE good song. Maybe Rain is that song.
The video is atrociously cliched and predictable. The song has predictible elements, the acoustic stanzas, the "plugged in" chorus, the build up to said choruses. It is so tacky and obviously crafted to be a hit on the radio. And yet, it is catchy, I don't mind it, and it is the best song they have done. Of course, this doesn't say much, but still.
