WMMR Pushing GRUNGEFEST
As I mentioned yesterday, my local radio station is putting on their
summer festival. It is GRUNGEFEST 2010 with Alice in Chains, Stone
Temple Pilots, Fuel, Three Days Grace and Skillet.
The show isn't until May, but they announced it yesterday. You can read my thoughts on the show here. But this post isn't about the lineup, it is about the promotion of the event. I hate Three Days Grace. They fucking blow asshole. I turn the channel every time I hear them. Skillet isn't much better with their Christian imagery and redeeming songs about life.
The terrible thing is now the radio station is in FULL push mode for the event. They already play a shit load of STP, AiC, and Three Days Grace, the last thing I need is MORE STP, AiC, and Three Days Grace.
STP and AiC are not a problem because I like them. But the radio doesn't play Bleed the Freak or We Die Young off Facelift. It is the same shit over and over again. Rooster, Man in the Box, etc. STP same thing...Interstate Love Song, Plush, Sex Type Thing, et al.
This becomes even more of a problem when Three Days Grace is played anymore than two times an hour. By the 8th hour of listening to this station you have heard the same Three Days Grace song 16 times. That is not an exaggeration.
I think it is time for me to put on my iPod and drive to work. This way I won't want to slit my wrists and hate STP and AiC.
What I really need is a record player that plays through my Aux wire. Do they have those? I would love to cause a few accidents that way.
"Oh officer please forgive me. I was just trying to cue up my Pink Floyd's The Wall vinyl...side three of course. I didn't even see that poor old lady on that motorized cart."

That's right bitches, my record player is a Smurf's Limited Edition Phonograph. Try not to be jealous. It works in my supreme man car...recently recalled Toyota Prius.
