U2 Promoting NASCAR

I am sitting naked, watching the Vikings take on the Cowboys in American Football, or as our Spanish speaking fans will say futbol Americano. I move to the kitchen to freshen up my vodka and hear U2's Bad. My dick instantly gets hard and I run to see what could U2 be promoting using that song? NASCAR as my erection subsides.

I am not sure the motivation for using one of the best drug addiction songs ever written. Is it that NASCAR, like brown tar heroin, is so addicting you need NASCAR Methadone to slowly ease yourself off of it? Is it that you have to actually BE on drugs to enjoy watching NASCAR?

I can only think that a NASCAR executive heard the re-release of The Unforgettable Fire (link), and decided that song would be perfect for NASCAR. A lot of companies use songs without taking into account the subject of the song. Take for instance, the Carnival Cruise Lust for Life campaign. They used Iggy Pop's Lust for Life in their campaign not having any idea it was about heroin.

Below you will find U2's performance of Bad at Live Aid. If you want to see a great live performance by Iggy Pop of Lust for Life, follow Blogs N' Roses on Twitter ( link).
