Courtney Love Wanted Elton John to Play on New Hole Record
Courtney Love has reformed her Hole. Not her va jay jay, she has
reformed her old band Hole. But it is without primary songwriter and
Hole co-founder, Eric Erlandson. Love wanted a man no stranger to holes, so Elton John was the natural choice to play piano on her new Hole record.
"We wanted Elton, but we got this guy that Bono and me were talking about, he played at New York's Carnegie Hall, he's very deft. I don't know that I really could have made Elton get on a plane and come to me!"
All of this is very interesting since Love claims that she has reformed Hole, but Eric says that "nothing can take place without his involvement - legally." But Eric seems to be out when it comes to the new record.
If I didn't tell you that Eric Erlandson was a founding member and songwriting partner with Courtney Love, would you have known anyone else in Hole besides the incoherent Love? I'll bet not.
So why does Love want to release music under the Hole name? Her name is probably more recognizable than Hole and it comes without the legal stipulations. Just release the record under your name.
