Shadows Fall Covers Ozzy Osbourne's Bark at the Moon
You know what I think when I hear Bark At the Moon, Ozzy Osbourne's
classic tune, how would Lars Wettner play this on drums? Loud and with
lots of double foot pedals on one bass drum. But how would a mainstream
metal act play this classic?
The answer is actual double bass drums, pinched harmonics, dank cellar vocals, and leave the end Randy Rhoads guitar solo in check.
The original, which solidified Ozzy as a mainstay in rock n' roll as a solo artist, was damn near perfect. Any band with balls enough to cover it, must live up to this high bar.
Shadows Fall makes their cover about drums and vocals and less about the blistering and innovative guitar work of Randy Rhoads. Maybe they felt they couldn't touch that because he's dead.
First is the Shadows Fall version and after it is the Ozzy version for comparison's sake.

Dudes....Randy Rhoads didn't play on Bark at the Moon....that's Jake E. Lee on lead guitar....
Damn, I could have sworn this record was released in 82. After careful research, Marty E is correct...as always!
You would think we wrote this shit out of our ass. And you would be right!
