Josh Todd Not Lead Singer of Aerosmith
Rolling Stone recently threw together a poll to determine who should
front Aerosmith. The readers selected Josh Todd from Buckcherry.
I could see it since Josh completely ripped everything he does on stage from Stephen Tyler including his singing/vocal stylings. I don't really see him leaving something that is going well for him (Buckcherry) to front Aerosmith. Josh confirmed my suspicions:
"He’s been a huge inspiration for me and Buckcherry but I truly believe that no one can take his place... I am the singer of Buckcherry and we are currently hard at work on the next record."
Aerosmith has become the red headed step child with Downs Syndrome of the music world. No one wants to help them out. The reason is simple, replacing Stephen is a dumb move. He is one of the most iconic frontmen in Rock N' Roll. You can't replace him with just any schmoe or even any accomplished Rock singer without it being a tribute to Tyler. What good singers are waiting for is to be the next singer AFTER the singer who had to follow Tyler. That guy won't be judged as harshly as the next singer of Aerosmith will be.
I was talking the other day about that CBS show Rockstar. They found a lead singer replacement for INXS, who had an iconic, died young, front man. It didn't REALLY work, but JD Fortune wasn't bad. Maybe Aerosmith needs to do something like this in the meantime. That would allow Stephen time to get his act together and allow Aerosmith to continue to play together.
That's it. I am starting the rumor...Aerosmith has signed onto the CBS show Rockstar to find a replacement for Stephen Tyler. Tell your friends.

Never replace Steven Tyler. I am mad the show got cancelled in NC and still do not want to see anyone replace Tyler.Joe Perry seems like a real goofball and seems to only cares about himself for years.
Buckcherry is so punk that they reject to play the usual punk sounding songs and only stick to ridiculously banal and retard cock rock.
Craig, I'm of the view once the singer has moved on the band should use a new name. They are just not the same without Tyler.
Just wait for Steve to come back, i agree with you when they replace the singer they become nothing more than a tribute band.
I suppose that they might not look for the replacement, but find another strong singer with a character and the image of his own. It might help the band's development.
