The Smashing Pumpkins have released a new song for free download. Check out the song at here.

The song is called “A Song For A Son.” This song is the first single from their upcoming album Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, a 44-song work that is being recorded now. The track was made available this morning (December 7) via AOL Music’s Spinner.com.

It is really slow and boring to me. I wasn't much into the Zeitgeist stuff, but that was far more entertaining than this song. It is an odd choice to release a basic piano, vocals, drums song as the first single off the album. I am hoping that this song isn't representative of the rest of the 44 songs. If it is, it sounds like it is going to be a snoozefest.
