Muse Labeled Best Band in the World by Q Magazine
Apparently the British Q awards have such pretentious awards like "Best
Band in the World." You might think, who could possibly win such a
prestigious honor? What would the selection criteria be for such an
award? Well this asshole has no idea, but the winner was Muse.
Now Muse is a great band. I love them and have all their albums (each album getting progressively better and better). I haven't seen them live, they seemingly avoid Philadelphia...and who can blame them?
If I am making my best guess, this award is Hipster Pretentious speak for "Best live band at this moment." Having not seen Muse, I can not attest to their touring chops, but a few bands that come to mind that put on a good show

I have determined that for any British Awards dealing with Rock n' Roll, Oasis is a nominee no matter what. Coldplay, Oasis, and the Arctic Monkeys have all won the award. But I can't find the description as to what constitutes the best band in the award. The award is voted on by the public, so the winner is democratic, but how do you get nominated?

Having seen 90% of the above bands i can confirm MUSE are the best. Best live and even to listen to on a C.D. They are the best band in the wrold today!
The boys are now working on a new album, which will feature more electronic and dance music than before, and might even have some songs on it with a full orchestra. They are looking to product it themselves, which will give them more freedom. It will be an innovative album – that’s for sure!
