The Foo Fighters are one of those dividing bands. You have rabid fans of them and them people who just hate them. I like them. I think they have a great sound, Dave Grohl has great energy on stage and a good screaming vocal style and god damn can they write radio friendly songs.

When I heard that they were going to release a Greatest Hits collection, I already knew the track listing. You can confirm if you are right below.

Every greatest hits collection needs to reward the hardcore fan because they have every album with all the songs on them. This is where cover versions or new songs come in. But the Foo Fighters already have an album of just covers, so there goes that idea. This left only new songs to be written. Enter Wheels.

Wheels is the single being played on the radio right now to promote the Greatest Hits collection. It is the worst song the Foo Fighters have ever released. It repeats the chorus a thousand times, the lyrics are stupid, the guitars are simple, and you can tell it was rushed or was a demo they had sitting around that they polished up.

This pains me to say since I am a fan of the band, but I will not be buying this Greatest Hits. I have all the songs and Wheels just doesn't do it for me. I can hope Word Forward is better, but I have my doubts. You can listen to the song below if you are interested.
