Godsmack Whiskey Hangover a Radio Hit
Godsmack capped its acclaimed tour with MÖTLEY CRÜE in
style this past week, scoring fifth No. 1 single at Active Rock,
notching the coveted top spot at Active Rock and the Mediabase format
with the band's first single in nearly three years, "Whiskey Hangover".
The song was released sans-album, a special gift to fans in celebration
of the band's acclaimed live slot on this one of this summer's hottest
rock tours.
The song is really a return to the sound of their first two albums. None of this "I Stand Alone" shit that defined their middle period. It is just great vintage Godsmack. I personally dig the song and I haven't enjoyed their stuff since Godsmack and Awake.
What is also amazing is the fifth largest radio market in the country (Philadelphia) isn't playing this song at all. So thank god for other radio stations in the US because we haven't heard it, but three times on the radio here.
Here it is in YouTube (Radio edit version).
