Charlie Watts has quit the Rolling Stones. I can't say I am surprised by the news, but it is none the less stunning. Charlie is an excellent drummer with impeccable timing. Him and Darryl Jones are one of the coolest and best rhythm sections in rock.

A source within the Stones inner-circle says, “Charlie Watts has quit the band. He will never record or tour with the band again”.

He survived a cancer scare and for god's sake he is 68 years old. He does deserve to retire, but with the Stones needing to pad their retirement fund, who will replace Charlie behind the kit for the 2010 Stones Tour?
