As we reported article, Charlie Watts supposedly quit The Rolling Stones. The longtime drummer, was rumored to have retired. Well that early news report is apparently complete bullshit (article).

Keith Richards once said that if Charlie wasn't in the band, he would stop touring. Keith practically had to beg and plead with Charlie to go out on the Bigger Bang tour and play on A Bigger Bang (the record).

I think the report is being pulled back only because The Stones were not ready to run the story. I do think Charlie either has or wants to retire. He has lived out of the limelight for many years and I believe he just wants to be a jazz drummer with his side band, do a few shows and enjoy the rest of his life without worrying about getting in shape for a two year tour.

I truly believe the Stones will send a press release saying: "Yes, Charlie is going to retire, but hey we have this really kick ass drummer that is going to fill in for him. This will be our last tour ever so this will be your last time to hear Monkey Man live."
