Greed $immons Attempts to Put Postive Spin on Screwup
Well
Greed is trying to pass off the KISS oversight as "we planned it all
along." For those of you kids following along, KISS decided to have
cities vote for where KISS should play. Number one voter was a city in
Canada called Oshawa. When the tour dates were announced, Oshawa was no
where to be found. The citizens of Oshawa were pissed off, and they had
a right to be. The KISS machine quickly booked two nights in Oshawa and
things were back to normal.
That is until Greed $immons released an obvious positive spin attempt. $immons told The Canadian Press the band had planned all along to launch its new album, "Sonic Boom", in the city, but was forced by the media to make the announcement early.
"I'm really pissed off at the media for creating this nonsense," Simmons said.
"You know, here's the history of the way we do things: you treat everything and everybody special, and because of who and what Oshawa is, which is near and dear to our hearts, because (they) won the No. 1 spot above and beyond New York, L.A., Toronto, Vancouver, we wanted to do a huge campaign."
"(The media) never gave us a chance to treat Oshawa special."
Absolute bullshit because Kevin Connor of the Sun Media reported this:
"I just got confirmation that KISS people have contacted General Motors Centre management to hold Oct. 6 and 7 for KISS," Oshawa City Councillor Robert Lutczyk told the Sun tonight.
That was yesterday, almost 3 full days after the KISS tour announcement and one full day after the Oshawa Media called KISS out for the oversight.
In the Kevin Connor report there is this quote:
“We are working out the details for the concert now. The problem is there is a significant divide between the band members and managers. It’s like a government bureaucracy. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand was doing, but I knew Gene would come through on his word,” Lutczyk said.
That pretty much is a catch all and nothing true fans didn't already know. It could be spun, "Look guys, we are not in charge of booking. But hey we are going to do two full shows so that's cool right?"
Don't fall for this bullshit. He is backpeddaling trying to make the oversight look like it was done on purpose. It's crap.
