Bassist Rex Brown will likely sit out the remainder of Down's North American tour, according to the group's webmaster. Although it was initially hoped that Brown would be able to rejoin his bandmates on the road earlier this week, it now appears that he will not make any of the dates on the trek.

In an August 15 interview with "The Moshpit" show on Southern California's 96.7 KCAL FM, Down frontman Philip Anselmo stated about Brown's absence from the current trek, "He's been putting off a lot. He's got two kids, he's got a family. I guess, call it the economy, if you want. He needed to sit out this run and take care of some family business."

That really sucks. I love Rex as a bassist and Down really isn't the same without him. I really hope he can get back on the road with Down, but that is just me being selfish.
