KISS Shuns Oshawa

I didn't know how right I was in this article where I wrote this:

"Voting in an online poll to determine KISS's route for a fall tour closed today, with Oshawa far in front with 14,573 votes, with Winnipeg next at 12,929. Organizers have said they'll weigh the results to take into account the size of cities in the running. Toronto is in eighth place with 5,304 votes.

So your city has been ravished by layoffs thanks to the Chevy Avalanche plant closing down. To make you feel better you will get to see 1/2 of KISS charge you $120.00 a ticket. This is, of course, if you have suitable venue that will hold the ego of Greed $immons and the insane amount of pyrotechnics."

Well now comes the report from Jenny Yuen of Sun Media. The car manufacturing capital of Canada was recently named the KISS capital after beating out every major city in North America in an online competition.

But when the KISS fall tour schedule was released yesterday morning, Oshawa wasn't even on the list.

"I'm devastated," Oshawa Councillor Robert Lutczyk said. "Gene told us personally that KISS would be in Oshawa. He said the top three in the contest are guaranteed a show."

Interesting, huh? My guess is that Oshawa doesn't have a suitable venue for Greed's ego. Honestly only a few locales worldwide actually have enough room to hold that - Rungrado May Day Stadium, Salt Lake Stadium, and Antartica.

But a KISS promise is a KISS promise and they have to live up to that. They could do an acoustic show in largest gym in Oshawa. They could play the Oshawa Veterans Memorial River Walk and or the Oshawa Citizens Hippodrome. Wherever it is, KISS has to play Oshawa as was the promise - no excuses! Time to step up Greed and Paul!
