Marilyn Manson has given quite the odd interview with the Times Online.

An excerpt from the article, which can be found in full at The Times Online, can be read below:

“Hopeless naif that I am, I don’t immediately realise that Marilyn Manson is totally wasted on absinthe. I can see he’s drinking the stuff, but I assume it’s just for show. By the end, though, when he’s showing me the picture on his iPhone of the swastika freshly shaved into his new girlfriend’s pubic hair, I know differently.”

“I drew it on,” he’s saying as his publicist ushers him from the room, “with blue eyeliner. I had to call the hotel: ‘Can I have a protractor, please?’ It was 6am. But you gotta, uh, line it up properly. You know?”

I would never question Trent Reznor, he's a god amongst these parts. By parts I mean my genitals. Trent Reznor called Manson a Dopey Clown and we determined that Trent does call a Spade a Spade. (link)

Manson's latest stunt over in the UK, backs up Reznor's call and just smacks of an artist struggling to be "edgy." The public has moved on, his new cd isn't that great (review to follow), and Manson is trying to recapture his audience who has grown up and has jobs or is in college now finger banging the drunk slut. They realize there is more out there than sacrificing animals and bondage in the mainstream.

Sure there are people murdering others and the media is blaming Manson's music for it rather than absentee parenting or just fucked up individuals. But that isn't Manson's fault.

Here he is, a man who used to be seen as shocking and no one is batting an eye at his hijinx. "I shaved a swastika into my g/f's bush." Whoop dee fucking do. The girl I brought home last night has Starry Night by Van Gogh emblazed on her snatch. Who cares?

I used to think he was the smartest man in the music business - using the negative public pesona to rake in the cash. Now I just think he's a "dopey clown."
