A New Book About Marilyn Manson by Thomas Chi

I haven't read this book so I don't know what kind of story it is portraying. But I thought the press release for it was interesting. I will post it verbatim below.

On the eve of Marilyn Manson's seventh album, a 15 year old Manson fan dies after insisting his teacher praise Marilyn Manson. The front page of Manson's website admits, "Everyone will suffer now!" The songs on his new album are prophetic with chilling titles like "Fifteen"; "I Want to Kill You Like They Do in the Movies"; and "Unkillable Monster".

Author Thomas Chi predicted the school shooting in his book, "Studying Marilyn Manson: Groupies, School Violence and Bullying". For seven years, Thomas Chi examined the research behind murders committed by Marilyn Manson fans in Colorado, Ohio, and the United Kingdom. In Louisiana, Justin Doucet planned on creating a killing spree with a .25-calibre semi-automatic gun by shooting students one-by-one at Larose-Cutoff Middle School in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. Justin Doucet stormed into a classroom and ordered the students to hit the floor before crying out, "Hail Marilyn Manson." Larose students told police that Doucet had a fascination with Marilyn Manson. Manson was blamed for the 1999 Columbine High School massacre and shootings at SuccessTech Academy where Asa Coon also fought with a teacher over a Marilyn Manson T-shirt. Coon was also obsessed with Marilyn Manson's music. October 10, 2007, Asa Coon wore his Marilyn Manson shirt as he brought a gun to SuccessTech Academy in Ohio. Two students and two teachers were shot before Coon committed suicide.

Now back to my thoughts. How many Manson fans are their worldwide? Millions probably. Are they all shooting up schools and workplaces in the name of Manson? No. There has be something said more for the bullying and outcast attitude of these teens that draw them toward his music. The bullying and feeling of isolation is probably what makes them commit suicide or shoot up schools. This book seems very interesting and might be a good read. Though I can't endorse it because I haven't read it.

Here is the Amazon link to buy the book.
