I am Jealous of Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance

All comic book nerds find themselves locked in a jealousy war with one another. The one-upping nearly constant, who knows more about Flash #165, or who has collected more Princess Leia outfits for their nonexistent girlfriends.

I couldn't figure out why I hated My Chemical Romance and more specifically Gerard Way until the latest installment of The Watchmen. I hate My Chemical Romance because they are doing everything I have ever wanted to do with my life.

While I am laying here next to the fattest land whale this side of Moby Dick facelessly blogging on the internet, they are out banging hot, emotionally scarred and damaged women. Gerard Way has created his own comic book, The Umbrella Academy which is an Eisner Award winner. And they were able to cover one of the coolest Bob Dylan songs and got it onto The Watchmen soundtrack.

I sat staring at my own rudimentary drawings of my failed comic book series "Menstro vs The Incredibly Absorbing Tamponix." It was a comic book adventure following an anti-hero known as Menstro, whose powers were the ability to make women have their period on command. But his plans for world domination and a population of menstruating women were always foiled by Tamponix, a man who was able to absorb all the blood and reset the uterine lining to its previous state.

I then took a look at my song book and read over some of the lyrics I wrote for my failed band. Song classics like Push, Flush - a summer ballad about a young lady having a prom night baby and attempting to flush it. Or Honeymoon Beach Sex - an ode to having sex on a beach and getting sand stuck in your hard to clean areas ruining your honeymoon.

But I have come to grips with my place in this world and I have let go of my hostility toward MCR. I realize I don't hate them as much as I originally thought. It was just my jealousy talking. By the way, here was the cover I had for Menstro.
