An eBay auction just concluded with the original Van Halen I artwork. This artwork was deemed too punk and the band was forced to change it. Here is what it looked like:



That is Alex Van Halen in the front of the group, which brings up the question...WHY? Why would you put the ugliest man in the band in the front? That album would never have sold just because no one would want a closeup of Alex sitting on their shelf.

I think they made the right choice here. The real artwork looks far superior to that Alex Van Halen fronted Van Halen.
