The Blogs N' Roses rumor phone has been ringing non stop. The rumor, if true, could blow this summer out of the water. It would sell many tickets and it has the possibility of crashing down before it even starts.

Van Halen (David Lee Roth along with Alex, Eddie, and Wolfgang Van Halen) are rumored to do a United States summer tour. Who could open for such an iconic band? How about Guns N' Roses (Axl Rose...with no other original members).

Back in '89 this tour would have been touted as a return to the US Festival glory. It would be shouted from the rooftops and lauded with lavish praise. But this tour, while still big, doesn't have the same effect.

Axl Rose never plays before 11 pm. He hasn't played before 11 pm since before the Use Your Illusion Tour. How could he come to grips with being at the venue early and ready to hit the stage by 7pm?

His last "World Tour" ended in Philadelphia with a riot when he just decided not to show up. His tour history isn't really the best and it leads to the main reasoning why this rumor has really no legs.

Van Halen was utterly fantastic when I saw them. Eddie was shredding his 50 year old fingers off, David Lee Roth was singing what is left of his hair off, and Alex banged the drums like they were a tree full of bananas. But their relationship is tenuous and could become strained at any moment.

The Van Halen/GNR tour would be the biggest US stadium tour this summer, but the chances of it happening are around 40%.

I do know the day, but this is not an April Fools Joke. There is a strong rumor floating around that the tour details are about 70% completed, but remember they are still rumors. BnR's industry contacts are still very skeptical of this news. But, it is still fun to think about the possibility of Axl Rose getting on stage at 7pm and opening for 3/4 of Van Halen.
