Reprise Records will release Green Day’s eighth studio album, entitled 21^st Century Breakdown, on Friday, May 15. Produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins) The album is the trio’s first studio effort since 2004’s two-time Grammy Award-winning American Idiot.

21^st Century Breakdown is divided into three acts: “Heroes and Cons,” “Charlatans and Saints,” and “Horseshoes and Handgrenades,” and follows a young couple, Christian and Gloria, through the century so far.

The first single, “Know Your Enemy”, will impact radio in April.
