In a recent interview with The Pulse of Radio, Duff McKagen hinted at some progress in the great Velvet Revolver Frontman Sweepstakes Quest.

"In the last, I would say, about eight weeks, we got three guys in that were all really good — like, far and above, more fitting than the rest. So I can say this much: we're headed in a very positive direction, and you might be hearing something soon."

Yeah...that doesn't sound like the same line they feed us every three months. "Yup, we might have the guy, the search is almost over, we're working on a ton of new material." 

If this whole music thing doesn't work out Velvet Revolver should use their impressive Where's Waldo searching skills to help O.J. find the real killers or perhaps track down Osama Bin Laden who is almost as allusive as Scott Weiland's replacement.
