Rocklahoma 2009 Bands Announced

The Bonnarroo Festival in Tennessee used to be the destination festival for young hippies. Then Bonnarroo sold out by catering to young, hipster types with their Kanye West and Flaming Lips. What festival will cater to the aging rockers? Enter Rocklahoma, the destination festival for hair plugs, Trans Ams, acid washed jeans, and beer guts.

If you are a reincarnated 80's band with a moderate hit, this festival is for you. If you are a lead singer who has lost his band, this festival is for you. If you are a reunited band that no one has ever heard of but put a record out in the 80s, this festival is for you.

The first announced bands are the reunited KEEL and Kix. What? You don't remember KEEL? Are you kidding me?! They just reunited. They had that hit...well they must have had a hit right? Ok, I don't remember who KEEL is so I went to YouTube and found this:

Last years Rocklahoma featured Warrant (it was an outdoor festival so no worries of fire), Brett Michaels, Dokken, LA Guns, Ace Frehley, and Lita Ford.

This years festival is scheduled for July 9-12 at the Catch the Fever Festival Grounds in Pryor, OK.

Just so you know, it was Great White whose concert the big fire was at in RI, not warrant.

Marty, must you call out my momentary lapses in memory?

At that hour of the morning I confused the writers of "Cherry Pie" and the writers of "Once Bitten Twice Shy".

Ian Hunter (of Mott the Hoople) wrote "Once Bitten Twice Shy" Great White just covered it...
