I recently saw an ad of an attractive blond dancing around an art studio while "Hot Child in the City" plays in the background. The commercial was for Hair Cuttery and I guess if you get your hair cut there you will be a hot girl walking around L.A. But the commercial reminded me about the Canadian sexpot Nick Gilder and his hit about a summer girl walking around the city.

What makes the song hotter is if you imagine Jodie Foster's character from Taxi Driver walking around to this song. The timing works out too since Taxi Driver was released in 1976 and Hot Child in the City was released in 1978. Now don't tell me this song doesn't remind you of her.
